Well, I said it all in the title of this post! He’s at the airport about to jump on the plane to come home. I am so thankful that he is on his way safely home! Believe me that is an understatement. He’s been there is some horrible fighting since February. He’s in the Navy, but as a Medic, he takes care of the Marines and goes where they go.
I am a teary mess-so relieved- writing this, as are my daughters, my son-in-law, sisters, my Mom, all my friends and extended family, yet I feel badly for all the other families waiting for the same good news. I will send them all good thoughts. I know it matters.
My beautiful children:
Thank you everyone for all of your wishes of a safe return these past months. Many of you have been there, in essence, with me, from the day he left and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your heartfelt comments and love.
XOXO, Patty
By the way, Russell will be 24 years old on October 20th! Being home will probably be the best birthday present ever!
