I am assisting a woman right now with her health, who has many issues that she is dealing with and multiple doctors. Bottom line is that she doesn’t understand any of them in enough detail and certainly doesn’t understand what to eat for each disease state that she is dealing with.
It is essential to recovery to understand, as an example, what having diabetes means. In this case she doesn’t have diabetes, but will if she does not make immediate changes. She doesn’t know where to begin, and how this interfaces with her autoimmune disease, etc. I am creating a flow chart for her and putting it in plain language. For this, you need to either consume or avoid this food or beverage, and then I do the same for the others and pretty soon, she’ll understand the pattern and flow. I have also asked her to go grocery shopping and gave her a list of what to purchase and we’ll look at her chart, then make dinner, making it simple so she is no longer “afraid to eat.”
